Program "Bulgarian Youth Delegates"
The National Program "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN" was launched in 2006 and is organized by UNA of Bulgaria with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. Partners of the Program include other institutions and non-governmental organizations, including the National Youth Forum, the Bulgarian Platform for International Development, ISIC Bulgaria, and the National Youth Card Association. The program helps young people become involved in identifying youth issues, developing youth policy strategies, and implementing them at the international level.
The main mission of the youth delegates is to serve as a bridge between young people in Bulgaria and the institutions, both nationally and internationally. This is achieved through regular meetings with young people in the country and surveys among them aimed at identifying their main problems and needs. These data are summarized and analyzed, based on which the statements of the Youth Delegates to the UN General Assembly and the Commission for Social Development of ECOSOC are prepared. The Bulgarian government, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bulgarian Mission to the UN, recognizes the "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN" program as the legitimate voice of young people in Bulgaria.
The world we want to see is one where young people are an active part of decision-making processes and policy creation at all institutional levels, both in Bulgaria and internationally. The "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN" program is one of the programs actively working to promote this form of youth involvement in other countries as well. Our vision is based on building proactive, educated, and motivated young people who have broad knowledge of the issues and priorities in various spheres of public life in the country and around the world.
