PROGRAM "CIVIC EDUCATION IN THE SPIRIT OF THE UN"
The program "Civic Education in the Spirit of the UN" includes students from the national UN school clubs network who participate in local, national, and international Model UN events, in celebrations of important international days related to children's rights, fostering tolerance and a culture of peace, media and digital literacy, and initiatives for information and democracy.

The national UN School Clubs network of UNA of Bulgaria was launched on September 17, 1999, as part of the project "Civic Education in the Spirit of the UN." The clubs, composed of students and university students, receive the status of associated groups and choose to work in one or more of the main areas of activity of UN: human rights, environmental protection, public health campaigns, Sustainable Development Goals, and campaigns supporting regional and global peace.
Our work with over 30 UN Clubs remains a long-term commitment. We have student clubs across the country. We also have university clubs at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," the American University in Bulgaria, New Bulgarian University, and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).

A UN School Club adds value to the work and image of the school. It brings together curious and ambitious students who can propose ideas, attract friends, critically address school issues, and be ready to participate in community initiatives. They embody the spirit of the UN — tolerance, freedom, and the idea of equal rights for all. The club is suitable for discussing a wide range of issues, as the UN's programs and principles are universal and affect every aspect of our lives. For assistance and involvement, write to us.
In brief, we would define it as global education – an education that opens the mind and heart to the interconnections and similarities that exist between people and communities around the world. It provides young people, who hold the future in their hands, with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to make the world's future fair and shared. Education in the spirit of the UN charges us to defend human rights and fundamental freedoms, embrace diversity, and be tolerant, particularly important, to accept that in our community (local or global), no one should be left behind.
Within the network of UN Clubs, we have implemented our best projects: "Children at Risk", "Bring My Friend Back to School", "Young Reporters for Local Democracy".
